Bitnation and Liberland Join Forces with Governance 2.0 Leaders

While Nation State Governments Fight Each Other for Global Dominance, Bitnation Joins Forces with Governance 2.0 Leaders to Build a Decentralized and Cooperative Future.

Zug, Switzerland, February 5, 2018 –  In the world of emerging governance technologies, many exciting experiments are underway to reinvent society for the digital age. These include e-Residency schemes, Seasteads, Space Colonies, Smart Cities, Intentional Communities and Decentralised Borderless Voluntary Nations (DBVNs).

One of the most well known of these is the start-up nation Liberland, situated on unclaimed territory between Serbia and Croatia. Liberland’s charismatic president, Vít Jedlička, recently joined Bitnation as a Board Advisor and said:

“In a rapidly evolving field such as Governance 2.0, its important that different projects come together to share ideas, knowledge, experience and best practices. Bitnation has much to offer through their leading edge technology and long term vision for a world where nations compete for citizens, and citizens are provided with a wide and easily accessed choice of governance options.”

Another interesting application in the blockchain space is the Ethereum-based Crowdjury DApp Kleros, a dispute resolution protocol based on competing courts. Kleros will be integrated as a Third Party DApp on Bitnation’s Blockchain Jurisdiction Pangea.

Frederico Ast, Kleros’s Founder, got together with Vít Jedlička and Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof, Bitnation Founder and CEO, recently to explore the problem of how to create effective blockchain juridictions and arbitration systems.

A number of ‘opt-out movements’, including opposition groups in Venezuela and Romania and proponents of self-government in Catalonia, are experimenting with Bitnation’s jurisdiction to create their own governance models as well. The DBVN movement is spreading around the world with new DBVN initiatives popping up on all continents every day.

Crowdfunding and investment veteran David Drake of LBJ Capital, who has also joined Bitnation as a Board Advisor, commented:

“Bitnation is building a blockchain-based platform that answers identity and citizenship concerns. In the future world with the Internet of Sovereignty, nationhood becomes voluntary, borderless, and decentralized under the Pangea jurisdiction. This sounds Utopian until we realize that refugees who are rendered without a citizenship can be covered by Governance 2.0 accessed through a mobile-based app.”

“Bitnation’s Pangea with its PAT (Pangea Arbitration Token) runs on the Ethereum blockchain protocol and without surprise has come out as the unprecedented winner of UNESCO’s Netexplo Award 2017, an independent observatory that studies the impact of digital tech on society and business. As Bitnation’s Advisor, I am excited that their team has seriously pursued and steadily explored the use of decentralized smart contracts in this way. PAT pushes us into the digital world as it facilitates our autonomy as humans and maintains our privacy. For all that their technology can do for governance, this token should be up and front on our radar.”

Bitation Founder and CEO, Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof, emphasized that:

“It’s exciting to see all these different movements coming together and helping each other out. What once seemed a utopian dream is rapidly becoming reality. Our reality, one that we’ve built ourselves, tailored to our individual preferences, as opposed to one imposed upon us by some a distant, bureaucratic ruling elite. The game has changed, and Bitnation is leading the way into the new society of opt-in peer-to-peer governance. Thanks to everyone who are part of this journey, whether within Bitnation, or in other symbiotic emergent governance projects.”
