During two recent elections, Andrew Yang was a different kind of Democrat. Now, he’s starting his own party, the Forward Party.
Why did Yang leave the Democratic Party? “I realized that it wasn’t going to work,” he tells me. “Our country is polarized and getting worse all the time in terms of the two sides.” He fears this will result in political violence.
Yang doesn’t want to censor people. I like that. He also says, wisely, “Running for president requires traits that make you a terrible leader.”
But he also calls climate change “an existential threat,” and wants to hand out free money. Yuck.
We discuss these ideas for about ten minutes here. Watch and decide for yourself.
