Yesterday, 18th March 2022 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Ritossa Family Office Summit:

Our President, Vít Jedlička, has bestowed upon H.R.H. Prince Michel de Yougoslavie the Liberland Star of Merit Order, Liberland’s highest state award.

The life and career of Prince Michel have been illustrious and diverse. Born in 1958, the Prince is the grandson of the last King of Italy and the last Regent of Yugoslavia. His Highness grew up and studied in France, Switzerland, England and Germany. He also lived in Brazil, Mexico, Palm Beach, Florida and New York.

Constant traveller, passionate for art, Prince Michel has developed a keen sense of observation, encouraged by his mother and family members. The Prince mentions:” Since we were not rich, rather than buying, my mother was often changing the place of the furniture. Volumes and perspectives were always evolving…. At each trip, I would visit art fairs. I was reunited with a whole group of friends in these all large cities… During these years, I would sharpen my look on art, paintings, but also on photography.”

After six months of training in a bank in Mexico City and six more months in Brazil, the Prince stopped for a vacation in the United States. His Highness states: “I was in Florida, and after a week on the beach, I got bored. I then started to work in the luxury real estate, a bit by hazard, and I stayed ten years.”

A decade of successful commercial deals was followed by ten more years in New York. These were great times when Michel de Yougoslavie continued to travel intensively and further hone his observation skills. During the 20 years of constant travels, Michel always had his camera with him. A digital Leica, with which he worked between one and two hours a day. “I have a daily discipline. I choose a precise theme like ‘fruit in the city’ or ‘urban perspectives’… Then I go out and take photos.”

Currently, His Highness focuses on practising this passion of his, photography, and he has become a veritable celebrity in that field. You are all cordially invited to visit his photography page and his Instagram.

The Order of Merit of the Star of Liberland was created in 2016 and intended to bestow particular attestation to those who have earned special merit in professional fields and the performance of public duties and activities carried out for special purposes, or for charitable works fulfilling humanitarian, civil protection or health needs of the Republic of Liberland.
