I never would think I would be saying this but I have to say this knowing that the Minister of Justice has stated that there must be a process that the proposed laws he has presented must be done in a certain order and while I believe the Supreme Court is on the list it is not until much later in the process if memory serves me correctly.
Liberland currently has no judiciary of any kind just on this basis alone I do not know how Liberland can truly declare that is has a government under the Montevideo Convention when if there is a legal wrong of any sort that has been committed there is no judiciary that can adjudicate that legal wrong.
How can any oversight be conducted under my proposed oversight laws if there is no Supreme Court in place to do the checking? One may argue that is the job of the Senate, but how can one say this the job of the senate when senators are in the Cabinet of the government and also in the Congress? One can declare that there is a conflict of interest or at a minimum the ability exists that there could be a conflict of interest.
It is with these reasons why the enabling law for the Supreme Court must be presented before the people so that the 3rd branch can be in place and conduct whatever business is necessary for the People of Liberland. Even if the tasks are minimal which I surely hope they will be. It is nevertheless an essential component of any government in order to be seen as legitimate, to ensure that justice is being willfully and truly carried out.
