The minimal list of laws for Liberland

This article is a modified republish piece from a previous post of mine from the Liberland forum.

For any new country there has to be some sort of cohesive law and order. What I mean by this is this we need to define certain parameters of what the society for a new country will look like when it is fully established.

Here is my list:

• Basic Criminal Law

• Dispute Resolution and Legal Framework

• National Defense and Public Order

• Establish a Constitution

• Establish a Legislature

• Set Up a Judicial System

• Create a Basic Defense Framework

• Establish Property and Land Registry

• Facilitate Voluntary Economic Systems

• Minimal Funding Mechanism

• Establish a Company Registry and Law of Formation

• Define who is a citizen and the process of Naturalization

This is in my opinion the bare bones minimum that must occur when establishing a new country others can argue there is a lot more to flesh out and while I agree some other things can be done those issues can be set aside for a time while the issues on the list I have are of priority. The criminal law should only consist of crimes that actually have a victim. Always remember the phrase, “do you no harm, take no shit.”

For Liberland, a couple of these have already been done like the Citizenship Law and the establishment of Congress, but much more work is needed to be done and while I don’t want to push these laws out quickly, what I want to get going on is discussions on these issues. I cannot find information anywhere as to how the Congress is wanting to move forward. Where is the agenda, where is the notice of the next meeting that is to occur, where is the blueprint manifest as to what the Congress wishes to accomplish in the next year, 2 years, etc?

  1. The Republic of Minerva would still exist today if they had put an ounce of thought into their own defense. Begging at the foot of international courts does not equal defense.
