Making Liberland A Peacemaker In A War Hawkish World

As my colleague TGP pointed out in an article he released yesterday the Cold War seems to be heating back up between East and West again and where Liberland sits it is in the global neighborhood where some of it is occurring. This time there is no Warsaw Pact, NATO has grown considerably, and China has joined the foray but otherwise the lines are still the US vs Russia as the major power players.

I was born only a month before the collapse of the Soviet Union and from a source peace and goodwill NATO should have dissolved when the Warsaw Pact dissolved. A sad twist of irony is that seven of the former Warsaw Pact countries are now NATO members themselves which when one looks at this from a viewpoint of the Russians looks like a tiptoe invasion towards their country from the west.

While Liberland is still unrecognized by any UN member state where it sits geographically is very unique. In between Croatia which is an EU/NATO member and Serbia which historically aligned with Russia based on shared culture. With this in mind Liberland like several other countries in Central Europe are at the crossroads of Eastern and Western European cultures and the East/West divide at large. Like I pointed in Liberland vs Austria Liberland can and needs to declare itself militarily neutral just like Austria has done and not join in NATO or any other military alliance. As George Washington said, we must not entangle ourselves in foreign alliances, even though this was said the United States it serves as a lesson to Liberland that we must not entangle ourselves in NATO or any other military alliance no matter what the situation may be at hand.

We must show that Liberland is willing to be the peacemaker like Austria and Switzerland famously are but in a different approach. Liberland can be the peacemaker through our unique governance and absolute free trade to everyone in the world.

With that I call upon the Congress of Liberland to declare our country militarily neutral in all affairs just like Austria, Switzerland and Ireland have done and show the world that we can be peacemakers to in this world that wants to be war hawkish.
