We seem to be returning to a Cold War-like atmosphere, with threats from NATO prompting Putin to resume nuclear weapons testing. Now, even President Donald Trump is announcing a resumption of nuclear tests in response, aiming to maintain a nuclear balance.

This trajectory feels like a grave mistake. We must ensure that there is no step, even a limited one, towards the use of nuclear weapons in the world. The tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki serve as a lasting reminder that such conflicts do not only impact military personnel but always affect civilian populations as well.

The threat of direct conflict between Russia and NATO countries is palpable in Europe, particularly in areas where nuclear weapons are stationed against the will of the local populace.

The general question I ask is:
Where is the peace movement in this global threat to world peace?☮️
