Should Liberland Approach The EU, Croatia and Serbia Like Switzerland’s Approach To The EU?

As I review the international dynamics of Europe one thing that keeps recurring in my mind is how in spite being totally surrounded by the EU (minus Lichtenstein) the country of Switzerland has been able to leverage numerous bilateral treaties with the EU. The relationship between the EU and Switzerland has not always been smooth especially after the 1992 “No” vote on membership to what was the EU’s predecessor and after the 2018 breakdown in negotiations when the EU attempted to consolidate the existing treaties and add more obligations to the Swiss in terms of adopting EU law into their domestic legal structure, I may be partially inaccurate but the general topic though is quite clear, the Swiss don’t want to be bullied into submission to the EU more than they have to be I would say is the best way to summarize the EU-Switzerland relationship.

How does the EU-Switzerland diplomatic relations impact Liberland you might ask, the answer is quite simple I think, at least from an overview and that is this, Liberland is the small country trying to navigate it’s way in a very complex world of international relations and we must approach our neighbors and the EU like Switzerland approaches the EU. If Liberland approaches the above group I mentioned in the title I think we may have a fair chance at the negotiating table. But I would go farther and say that the ultimate tool Liberland can hold, if it is done correctly is two fold one, is the blockchain and two I would say is a free trade hub not by amount of goods that pass through out country but by the facilitation of enabling companies to use Liberland as the virtual and electronic means of doing business just like many small countries have done in the past. I think Liberland could truly develop a niche market in the blockchain, DAO, crypto space if we can stake a de jure claim on Gornja Siga that Liberland lawfully claimed was Terra Nullis and once that is done Liberland would then I contend explode in growth. In order to make this happen Croatia must meet Liberland at the negotiating table with Serbia to make this a reality.
