The official Liberland Diplomatic Delegation arrived in Rome at the end of October headed up by President Vit Jedlicka and Secretary of State Dr Tariq Abbasi. There was a two day event planned with the first day taken up with business meetings during the day and concluding with a formal dinner at the Mission which was organised by the Ambassador of Liberland to Italy Carmine Spinali and his team. Around 60 guests attended the dinner and included no less than three members of the royal family, ambassadors from Liberia and Sierra Leon, Cabo Verde, bankers, business people and politicians.
President Vit was reconnected with two major organisations during his visit, both of which have entered into treaties with Liberland. The two organisations are the Arab Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Confederimprese. More than 40,000 companies make up the membership of these two organisations and this visit was hoped to inspire closer business relationships going forward.
On the second day of the visit, President Vit gave presentation on Liberland to the audience invited at the Senate. There he was greeted by Senator Sabrina Ricciardi. After formal exchanges the president firstly appointed Senator Ricciardi with the honorary citizenship of Liberland and then with the Order of Merit.
President Vit then presented Senator Ricciardi with the Order of Merit from Liberland. This official award is give a particular attestation to those who have special merit towards the State of the Republic of liberland, in the field of sciences, letters, arts, the economy and the disengagement of public offices and activities carried out for social purposes, philanthropic and humanitarian, as well as for long and reported services in civilian and military careers of the Republic or even towards humanitarian and philanthropic organizations.
Concluding the afternoon talks, the advisor to the President of the Senate thanked the President Vit and the Diplomatic Delegation for attending and sharing their information with the Senate. He welcomed the opportunity that was enjoyed by hearing about Liberland and looked forward to having them back again.
